Dee Freeman, a compelling,
gifted and uncompromising wordsmith, has been writing and sharing
her poetry and prose for years. Her vision is to see compassion,
knowledge and empowerment raised to their highest live, so all
people may lead fulfilled and productive lives. Her passion
is obvious, thus her writing is sometimes dubbed “motivational
or inspirational’. This published author, speaker, TV
show host is also the co-founder of The Sisterhood Of the Written
Word, an organization formed to celebrate community by supporting
authors and empowering readers. Up coming events serve a dual
purpose: displaying the gifts and talents of some while revealing
the passion and purpose of others. Dee is strongly committed
to combating illiteracy in youths as well as needy adults and
welcomes all who come with a desire to find knowledge. Her clarity
of voice flows in her well received books, “Oceans of
Love: To Us From Us”, Poetry She Wrote I: Oh Magnify Him”
and “Poetry, She Wrote II: Reflections of the Heart”,
which benefit all; gently touching, softly soothing, delightfully
awakening the soul and helping readers enjoy imagery, words
and rhythmic rhyme.

a writer, poet and author of three books, Dee is proud to share
her |

undeniably
blessed gifts with friends, readers and the literary world.
As a producer and host of her three year old TV show-Poetree-N-Motion-a
hot spot, drawing dynamite guests-she is a conduit to the community;
assisting others as they come by and share their wisdom, viewpoints
and advice on a variety of topics. As a mother, grandmother,
sister, aunt, niece and cousin, she is blessed, pleased and
proud and would not change these roles for any amount of fame
or riches. As a wife, friend, |
lover,
confidant, companion and soul mate, she is honored and greatly
cherishes, appreciates and enjoys these roles and hopes she
will forever enjoy the uncomplicated pleasures of being loved.
As a literary advocate, public speaker, community activist,
Christian and fellow human, Dee feels it is her obligation to
reach out, give back and share whatever wisdom, vision and perception
of life she possesses, for it has been graciously given to her
and she has a responsibility to reach one, teach one and pay
forward the blessings she has received, therefore becoming a
blessing to others. |

An
eclectic and innovative poet; an advocate for the arts, human
development, peace, global equality and cultural diversity,
Dee has shared her poetry for years-at readings, slams, jams,
competitions; school tours; tributes/presentations throughout
Lansing, surrounding areas and even Arkansas and Missouri. She
writes pieces for local newspapers and has award winning poems
published in magazines and anthologies. She is co-founder of
Sisterhood Of The Written Word; a member of numerous literary
organizations/clubs and sings with a 35 voice group which keeps
Negro Spirituals alive. She is recipient of several Certificates
of Appreciation from the City and City Council for stirring
presentations and was featured poet on the cover of a New York
magazine ‘Disilgold Soul’ and touted by Reviewers
as top poet of the year.
Dee
has a passion for writing and her three books, “Oceans
of Love: To Us From Us”, Poetry, She Wrote I: Oh, Magnify
Him” and “Poetry, She Wrote II: Reflections of the
Heart” are well accepted and have proven beneficial to
the community at large. “Oceans” and Poetry, She
Wrote I have been placed in the Lansing school system and libraries
all over the country. She is pleased that many readers comment
on how the lyrical verse gently touches, softly soothes, delightfully
awakens, enthusiastically illuminates and fervently heals the
mind, the heart and the soul-all seemingly simultaneously. Her
novel “Wild Michigan”, co-authored with movie producer
Tyler-------has been put on hold until his prime show -------is
up and showing.
The
love of Dee’s life, Myron Sr., also her #1 supporter,
inspires many pieces on love and romance, thus her manuscript,
“Love Ever Flowing,” the third in the ‘Poetry,
She Wrote’ series is almost complete. They continue to
live in Lansing. Their three adult children (Marty, JR, Janeece)
and grandson-Giovanni, who inspired the children’s book-To
Heir Is To Love, give Dee much happiness. Following are her
words of wisdom to everyone: “Being your best self; Be
proud, Be productive and Be Blessed”.
